Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where are your ingredients from?
A: Our Mineral Zinc is mined in the USA. Some of our ingredients are from the USA, and some are imported since they cannot be produced in the climate here (ex. coconut oil). All Organic ingredients are certified to meet USDA Organic standards, regardless of origin.
Q: Where are the sunscreens manufactured?
A: Our products are manufactured in a pharmaceutical facility in Orange County, California, USA. Our manufacturer is an expert in FDA approved products, has extremely high quality standards, and can perform complex lab activities such as shelf-life testing.
Q: Why aren't your sunscreens 100% Organic?
A: Mineral Zinc is mined, not grown, therefore it cannot be Organic. Because of that, you'll never see a completely Organic sunscreen! Our body balms (which do not contain Zinc) are 100% Organic.
23% responsibly mined Zinc + 77% Organic = 100% chemical free!
Q: Will SunBioLogic sunscreens make my face and skin breakout?
A: Our sunscreens are non-comedogenic, meaning they are formulated to avoid breakouts and irritation. They are appropriate for use on all skin types. Our formulas are intentionally simple, using only pure, clean ingredients that won't bother sensitive skin or children.
As with any new skincare product, we recommend performing a patch test prior to use, and to discontinue use if irritation occurs. You can find the full ingredient list on each product page.
Q: What is your return/refund policy?
A: We do not currently accept returns of used/opened product. If there is an issue with your order (defective, damaged, etc.) please contact us at hello@sunbiologic.com and we will do our best to make it right!
Q: What is your best selling product?
A: Raw Coconut SPF 30+ sunscreen! This year we also introduced two Naturally Tinted SPF 30+ sunscreens, which have been popular.
Q: Are your sunscreens vegan and cruelty-free?
A: Our sunscreen tubes (Raw Coconut, Naturally Tinted) do not contain any animal-derived ingredients, but are not certified vegan.
Our sunscreen Sticks (Sport, Kids, and Baby) contain beeswax to help maintain their consistency. We do not conduct any testing on animals.
Q: Will SunBioLogic sunscreen leave a white cast on my skin?
A: Some people find that mineral Zinc sunscreens leave traces of white residue on their skin. This is because Zinc forms a protective layer atop the skin, and is NOT absorbed by the bloodstream like harmful chemicals such as Oxybenzone.
After application, rub the sunscreen in a circular motion until fully blended. Most people will find that there is no noticeable residue 10-15 minutes after application. Results will vary based on your skin tone as well as how thickly you apply the product.
